Product Description RoofBag EXPLORER WS-n-15-GY rooftop cargo carriers offer great protection at an economical price. Constructed with a combination of Radio Frequency welding at the top of the carrier and traditional stitching at the front corners and the zipper flap, this car top carrier is recommended when heavy rain is not expected frequently. Even though the EXPLORER cargo carrier uses stitching on the corners and along the zipper flap, water protection is excellent, since any possible moisture wicking through the needle holes is minimized by a double folded, double stitched manufacturing process.
The material used in the RoofBag is 18-oz tight-knit polyester fabric, which has been double-coated with vinyl. Besides being totally waterproof, this material is very tough and durable. It is treated to resist the damaging effect of UV rays. It won't fade or deteriorate, even with constant exposure to the sun. (Roofbag also makes an 11 cu. ft. version for smaller cars)

| Customer Reviews: Sturdy and spacious August 1, 2010 A. E. M. 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I used this bag to move from New York to Virginia in a 2001 Honda Accord. The bag held a remarkable amount of stuff, stayed in place and kept everything inside clean and dry. My new apartment came furnished, so I only needed to move clothes, kitchen items, etc. With this roof bag doubling the car's load capacity, I was able to do it in only 2 trips, saving around $400 on a moving van or truck! The first trip we fit two large suitcases, a garment bag, 4 pillows, blankets, sheets and towels in the roof bag, plus a couple small boxes. We followed the easy instructions for loading and strap placement. There was a bit more wind noise than without the bag, but it wasn't bad - we were still able to talk and listen to talk radio at a normal decibel level. The second time we weren't able to pack the bag as optimally (stuffed tight is best - a mix of hard items and soft things to pack around them is optimal) so the wind was noticeably louder, but still not bad. In our car, the top of my 6'2" boyfriend's head hit the strap that runs through the front interior. He said it was a little annoying at first, but then he got used to it and liked that he could feel if the strap was slackening (it did not). After 2 trips the bag shows no sign of wear. I folded it up into a pretty small bundle and stored it under my bed for future use. Highly recommended.
Good product July 26, 2010 sc 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This roof bag is very spacious. We drove through hard rain for several hours, and a couple of our items were slightly damp, but not wet. We had taken the precaution of packing everything in plastic bags before putting them in the roof bag, so it was not a problem. I didn't realize that this bag came with a non-slip mat to put underneath it, so I had purchased one separately. The separate one was slightly thicker than the one that came with the bag, but not enough to make much of a difference. At first we had packed some lighter items in the front of the roof bag, and we noticed some noise from the wind blowing underneath the bag when we were traveling on the highway. When we repacked the bag, we put our heavier items at the front of the bag and had no noise problems that way. There is some noise from the doors where the straps run in through the interior of the vehicle, but it wasn't very loud, and wasn't a problem. This was a good product, and I'd recommend it.
Excellent! December 27, 2009 Susan M (Coral Springs, FL United States) 10 out of 10 found this review helpful
This roof bag worked perfectly for us. We went away for Christmas and had to fill the trunk with presents so we purchased this to store our luggage. It was easy to put on the roof. I helped put it on however my husband could have easily done it on his own. We even took it off when stopping at a hotel overnight. We have a Nissan Altima with no roof rack so we used the non skid pad it came with it. We put the roof bag on the car first as it was too heavy to lift with all the suitcases in it. There is plenty of room in it. We had a large suitcase, two small ones and a duffle bag (about the size of the small suit cases)and there was still more room to add other odds and ends. We drove 1200 miles at highway speeds and had no problems. The bag will slip back just a tad after you get moving but then it stays in place. We didn't really have any rain other than a light drizzle so I can speak about whether or not it is truly waterproof. We put our luggage in large plastic bags just to be safe. Overall we thought this bag was great especially if you don't want to invest hundreds of dollars into a hard top carrier. It even comes with a pouch to store it in so it doesn't take up a lot of room in the garage.

I bought this so I could put camping gear on top of my Acura TL instead of taking up so much room in the car. It works purfect and has a lot of room. The straps are easy to use, although you will hear a small amount of wind noise from the straps being closed in the doors from the weather stripping because it does not seal completly although there is not a problem with water leakage. I just turned up my radio and lost the sound but if you want it quite I do not recomend this type of unit. You would need to buy a roof rack and install it on your car and then attach the bag to it which can be costly, so I went the cheaper route which worked for me.
Roof bag works well! June 25, 2009 Neurotic Cookie (Oklahoma, USA) 15 out of 16 found this review helpful
This did exactly what we needed it to do. We purchased this bag for a long road and camping trip in which we had 5 people in a minivan and no room to store camping supplies. We do not have a rack on the minivan, so this bag fit our needs, strapping through the windows in the car securing it that way with two long straps. My passengers were worried at first for the safety of their camping supplies and personal belongings, but after the first few hundred miles of speedy highway driving, it was obvious we had nothing to worry about. It securely held our belongings on the top of the vehicle and we will continue to use this bag for future road trips and camping expeditions.
